Default Re: Pro Tools 10 on Windows 8??

Well, I tried PT10 on my Win7 (prof) 64 Bits Bootcamp and its works quite well. The idea was, that I'd maybe waste money when I buy a Win7 ultimate instead of Win8.

It's one of the privileges needed that the PT 10 installer doesn't include at this time.

You can get W7/W8 64-bit running on a Mac Pro 1,1 but you'll have to create a custom install disk. Not a massive or difficult procedure, but definitely an advanced step if you've never done it before.

Shane,
could you tell me, is this required with PT11.0.1 as well? With this change does a guy still have to run in W7 compatibility mode during setup?

Thanks,
J

No it is not required. PT11 installs normally and works fantastic on Windows 8. I have both PT10 and 11 installed and I must say 11 is so much better to work with on Windows 8.
