Default ADC Lesson

Hey guys, Im going to tackle learning my way around this issue so I can use my Protools LE 8 more often.

1. TRACKS= Shift them back by the delay shown a the bottom of the track

2. BUSSES ??

3. AUX SENDS ??

4. Master buss?

Etc

I DONT want to use any of the time adjusters if I dont have to. I want to manually learn how to do this first

Thanks

Why don't you want to use time adjuster?

Using time adjuster IS the manual way to do it..

If you were going to adjust everything just by shifting, then I would think you would have to wait until you have ALL your plugs, tracks, auxes, decided. Then figure everything out. Then, when you decide you need to change a plug somewhere you're screwed, because you don't know where everything WAS..

So here is the way to do it using time adjuster...

Nudging is a bad idea.

As flommer said, change a plug-in and you are screwed. Change your playback engine and you could be screwed, too.

Time Adjuster is manual.

A little experimentation will show you which plugins cause latency. Many of them do not. I have used PT for 5 years and almost never have any issues with latency. I leave plugins off the master(I do that as a separate step in a separate session or in WaveLab). The worst plugins will be anything that is "look ahead" like any mastering/brickwall limiter or a gate that claims zero attack time. I use buss compression with drums(parallel compression) with BF76 and Waves SSL buss compressor all the time with zero phasing issue.
