Easy way to add bars to a song.
Hey guys!
So, I imported my stems from a song I made in maschine, into pt 12! (I'm loving it btw), and I decided that a few bars into the song, (16, or 24, can't remember) I want to copy, and paste another 8 bars into it, but only from a few parts of the song. I don't want to paste all of it. So I want add bars to most of the tracks, but not all of them, cause I feel like I have an instrument come in too early, and the build up is too quick. I hope I explained this well enough. So, I'm wondering if anyone has some cool tips I can use to do this! Thanks! |

Re: Easy way to add bars to a song.
Should be simple enough, set the tempo in Pro Tools to match what it was in Maschine, set your Grid to 1 bar, activate Grid Mode, activate the "ALL" edit group, highlight the desired bar(s) you want to copy, and paste them wherever you want.

You could also use copy/paste while in Shuffle Mode which will move everything to the right in the timeline when you paste. |

1.Tempo set, and grid mode on. Set to 1 bar. 2. clicked on "ALL" in groups window. 3. ? I went to do make my edits, but everything was selected. Tried highlighting the tracks I wanted, but got same result. |

Re: Easy way to add bars to a song.
Hi, You should read up on it in the Reference Manual, or check out some YouTube tutorials. It's not difficult, but probably easier to do if you actually see how. One suggestion - select the sections you want to paste and hit Command+E which will create breakpoints and new clips at the boundaries. Then you can move them around or copy/paste them. (Command+H will "heal" the edits)

Well yeah, if you only want to do an edit to a certain track, turn the ALL group off.
