Default PT 12 Install error - Missing location or no access

I have tried to install twice on my Windows 7 system and got very far along when I started getting errors that it was trying to put files in a location that didn't exist or didn't have the correct rights for. I eventually had to abort the install.
I'm using the 84465 install and there doesn't seem to be a newer one out there.

Is this a known issue?

Is User Account Control enabled? If so, disable it, restart your machine and then try the install.

Maybe? Hopefully!

Sorry to be a little ignorant here but what is "User Account Control"? Is it in Windows or a property somewhere else that I need to change?

Here are the steps to disable UAC:

Go to Windows start menu.

Click on your user image (top right above the name of your user folder)

It will say "Make changes to your user account"

Click on the last option "Change User Account Control Settings"

Click and Drop the Slider to "Never Notify"

Click OK and restart your computer.

This IS recommended in the case of installing & using Pro Tools with Windows.

Hope this works!
