I am curious what the majority of you use for drums: MIDI or DRUM LOOPS ( discrete drums, DOD, EZEdrums, Drumcore)???????????????

I use midi/loops while I write music and then when I'm ready to actually release a song it's a real guy.

I always use a real drummer if I can. If the project has no budget for a drummer (and I can't play it,) I'll use BFD, sometimes DKFH.

I use single-shot samples with everything on separate tracks.

Re: What do you usually use for demo session drums
Are loop programs like drumcore/ ezedrummer too limiting ?? IS that the reason most of you use midi or one shot samples into midi?
What about drums on demand or discrete drums? Are the packages loops or do they have lots of one shot samples for midi? What about about REX files? Does anyone use that? I read drumcore advocates protools users to select the REX files.... Are you guys using a midi controller for constructs your beats? or simple dragging samples into a midi track and moving things with your mouse?

Re: What do you usually use for demo session drums
I use almost all of the above. It depends on the song/situation.
Again, what I use all depends on the song I am working on, and what I am comfortable using at that time. You've been asking this question for a couple of weeks now, and most people have given you the same clear answer: all these products are good products, but you need to try them and use what works for you. In all this time you've been asking, you could have tried them out and decided for yourself what's best for you.

Re: What do you usually use for demo session drums ???
If I need a simple batch of loops, I usually pound them out on an M-Audio Trigger Finger using ezdrummer on a stereo instrument track(I find this faster than auditioning a hundred loops when I already know the feel I need). If I need more human qualities, I will knock out the track sitting at a Roland TD-10 kit(again driving ezdrummer) and do a quick quantize on it(as I am not a great drummer).
