Default DD EOL??

DigiDelivery seems to have taken quite a back seat on the forum and the new website.

My biggest question is will DD still be supported in the long run even if it is EOL?

Thanks

Rob

Default Re: DD EOL??

Before they call it "legacy" I´d really have these bugs fixed:

- When you pause a download to prioritize another one the first one will fail after the download completes. VERY frustration when you pause a 5GB download in the middle to give way for a 10MB download first and you have to start over with the 5GBs that were already halfway complete.

-Resuming downloads generally only reliably works when you quit the client while downloading. When th client crashes, it almost never resumes the download. Instead it fails.

-The server does not always send out confirmation emails for successful downloads. Causes a lot of manual confirmng and confusion.

All of these bugs are clearly not what DD is promising in the product flyer mentioning the advantages over FTP: confirmed delivery and resumable downloads.,

frank.

Chris Markle here from Aspera... This product is not EOL. Digidesign sold the product line to us in late '08. We are continuing to sell the product through Digidesign and Avid, and Aspera is actively supporting the product. We are making enhancements to the product having delivered our first server update in May '08 and we are about to release our second one in a mid-August. Given that it's technically not a Digidesign product any more, it's no surprise that it's being downplayed on their site, but rest assured that Aspera continues to support and develop the product.
