I just bought 2 more copies of it for our other HD9 rigs since I figured prices would be raising. The one listing said 14 copies had been sold in the last 24 hours…only a fool wouldn't raise prices if they still had lots of used copies.

I love used software. Funny, it really doesn't look or feel used...

If you don't mind me asking what eBay seller did you go through?
I bought one first thing in the morning yesterday from Audiodeluxe on eBay and I've had nothing but radio silence since and I see that they sold out of them.
So I'm curious if I should be sending emails to them.

I bought mine from AudioDeluxe as well. I had sent them an ebay message about it yesterday and heard nothing.

I finally sent them a message through their website (Where's My Order) with the item number, my ebay user name and PayPal transaction ID.

I received the registration code, which I needed to enter in my Avid account, and all is well.

I would recommend sending a message through www.audiodeluxe.com

I just went to my PayPal account to get all the info to email them and they had just sent me my license.

No.

As stated in the What's New in Pro Tools 12.1 doc...

Additional Improvements
  • HEAT now available in both DSP and Native formats for Pro Tools HD Software
With the Pro Tools 12.1 release, HEAT is no longer dependent on HD Hardware but you do need HD Software to use it.

This is really BS you could open Heat up to All Users and create a bit of revenue and save a little face.

I got mine from (eBay) Audiodeluxe yesterday for $99.00 and they sent me the activation code this morning. I'm sure you will hear from them soon. They are a good company to work with. I'm really liking what it brings to the table. It's a great addition to what I already have. What a great deal.

Default How do you like to use HEAT?

Just curious what others prefer. I'm really liking HEAT vs other saturation tools I'd been using. I myself generally favor drive 2 clicks counterclockwise for odd harmonic saturation and tone one click clockwise. I add Slate VCC for the console saturation and color to tracks as necessary. Generally HEAT is in its default post insert position in the chain.

I prefer this approach because some of the even order tube drive settings seem to be a little heavy handed to me. The highs seem a little too forward but rolling back on tone seems to be a little too dark. The 'tape' HEAT plus VCC combo seems just right to my ears. But I may yet change my mind. Anyhow I've had a lot of fun adjusting to it and thought a little shop talk might be stimulating.

What do you like and why?
