Just Upgraded from LE 6.1 to 7.4...ISSUES!!!!!
I just opened a project that was created in LE 6.1 on my M-Box...
I just upgraded to 7.4 (Long Overdue...) I understand that some of my Plug-Ins have changed...but even the basic EQ settings are now UNSUPPORTED PLUG-INS. All of my EQ settings from the original project are no longer effective. It DOES show that I had an EQ set-up..but it's now an UNSUPPORTED PLUG-IN.... I can't believe I have to Re-EQ everything! I wasn't using any special EQ..just the basic 1 or 4 band EQ that existed in the Audio Suite in 6.1 Am I doing something wrong...?..or is thyat simply life when you upgrade??? That would suck! HELP!!!! BT |

Sorry, yeah, most major upgrades have had new digirack plugs, and have been unable to load previous versions, or even import their settings files. It does suck. Such is life.

Re: Just Upgraded from LE 6.1 to 7.4...ISSUES!!!!!
no they can't co-exist, it's one or the other. Plus I assume you updated your operating system as well? what version of OS and what machine/processor are you running, out of curiosity?
Did you back up your Plugin Settings folder? If it is the settings you needed, that was would have been the solution. I'm pretty sure, even though the EQ III plugins look different, they can still read older plugin settings files... could be wrong. Also have you tried just clicking on the greyed-out "inactive" EQ and just tried putting the equvilent EQ III plugin on to see if it remembers the setting? So if it was the old EQ4 choose the new EQ4 III and see if it remembers the setting. It could be storing the setting info waiting for EQ III to be activated... Might wanna try this on a session that you don't care too much about, or a backup/copy of an older session. Then you can mess around with it without screwing up the original.

Wow, I've never had digirack plugs even read older version settings, never mind load them automatically. If the old ones were EQ II, I think you can put them in your plug-ins folder - aren't they installed to the "unused" folder by defaulT? But if they were an earlier version, you're probably screwed. I've got loads of old sessions from 3.1 on that have their plugin settings in the folders but nothing will read them, that I know of.
