Can you sell/transfer academic/student versions of PT10?

Bought a s/h student version of PT10 from ebay - seller didn't mention that it wasn't the full version, so I only found out when I received it in the post.

As far as I can make out from reading stuff on here and at the Avid site I won't be able to register this on the ilok as you can't sell/transfer these academic licenses.

Is this correct?

There is not difference between the regular version and the academic. As long as you now have the box, you should have no problem registering. I do not remember having to show Avid anything when I bought mine, I had to prove I was eligible with the Vendor, but nothing with Avid as far as I remember.

But presumably you bought yours from new? I've bought a previously registered copy & everything that I've read on the forum and at Avid seems to say that these licenses can't be sold or transferred. I'd love it to be otherwise or I've just shelled out for something that is useless to me.

Once it's registered, it can't be transferred. Someone else can use it, but it can't be transferred.

I wish it could, I own it and PTHD 10/11, but didn't when I bought it. I had PTHD8.
