Connecting MIDI piano to mbox 2
I got a Yamaha p 120 electric piano and I cant figure out how to get pro tools or reason to recognize it. I have 2 MIDI cables going from the MIDI out of the piano to the MIDI in on the mbox 2 and the MIDI In of the Piano going the MIDI Out of the mbox 2. I have the host selector on the piano set on MIDI. I cant figure out what I am doing wrong does anyone have an Idea?

Re: Connecting MIDI piano to mbox 2
We're going to need a bit more info - like which version of Pro Tools you're running, which OS version, etc.
Are you creating a MIDI track? Is the input tab of the track set to 'All'? Is the output set to the correct Reason instrument? Is Reason instanciated on an Aux or Instrument track? Is Reason launching correctly and do you have an instrument selected in Reason? The more detail you can give us, the easier it is to help you. There are several tutorial videos on our site (See Digi TV) and on YouTube on how to set up Pro Tools with Reason. If you are still unable to get this working, please see the Help Us Help You thread for details on what we need to know to be able to help you. |
