Default Digital Piano....

Does anyone else have problems with getting a decent sound out of digital piano after it's recorded?...
Just so it's not an ear-sore?..

well... no offense, but that question is kinda like saying.. is the color blue actually blue? Digital Piano's are only as good as the patch/sound bank that you are utilizing to record with.. also you might want to run your line-in into a good DI box before going into your PT unit which sometimes eliminates a lot of hum or noise that you might get. Worst case scenerio, you can always mic your speakers on your keyboard to get the sound that you hear when you play without recording it and it gets more of a "real" piano sound than if you record it directly. Reverb and a tad bit of delay are also your friends to warm up a digital piano sometimes. Last but not least, you could always simply try a different piano sound on your keyboard. Sometimes it will sound terrible in the room, but when you record it, it sounds amazing. Don't be afraid to experiement a little. Goodluck
