I am interested to see where this light peak thing goes.

Has it died off in discussion?

And. To add to the hype, I was actually told by a dealer to hold off on a purchase of some TDM Related hardware because of the announcements coming this week.
He was either blowin smoke, or really lookin out for me. I have my suspicions both ways.

Sounds like an iPhone 5 forum in here.

Love the predictions.

Can we get pictures of some the expression of those who are completely wrong?

One this is for sure though... If, and that is "IF" new hardware is released, I'm defiantly not going to be able use my system anymore. I mean how can I possibly record, edit and mix, maybe even master with my dated system, when there is new a one out there!

I love my TDM system. I love the work flow. I hope that it will not be discontinued.

On another note, I wonder if 'vintage' sound of PT TDM will ever be thought of like tape/analogue? "Yeah we recorded this album on an old TDM system. You can really it's vintage, restricted sound.

Strangely, I just had this (almost) exact conversation. With the rumors of floating point processing, the whole notion of intentionally clipping Protools internally for flat-topping audio will change. Maybe they'll release a fixed-math clipper plugin!

Well, if you want it to sound warmer, floating point is it.

If you want more bite without doing anything, fix point does it.

The king is dead - long live the king!

What ever it is they're going to announce tonight - I believe it must be some kind of DSP hardware, albeit quite expensive.

Anyways - I would only let go of my HD3 when most of the plug-ins I rely on work on the new system. Dare I say...Dave Hill Phoenix, Eventide Anthology II and especially Princeton Reverb 2016, Focusrite Liquid Mix HD (brilliant!), TC Harmony4...now some of these might never happen. Anyways, I could happily work with my HD3 in a newer Mac Pro for the next whatever years.
