Getting Pro Tools Express Activated

Hey all!
So Im having some issues getting my license surrendered.
I followed all the directions and used the code off my card and entered in my ilok ID. It shows up in my account as "Pro Tools Express Primer License".
It says I need to surrender it. When I click complete I get "One or more licenses to surrender cannot be found in your account."

I contacted iLok, and they told me -
Hello,

You're getting an error message that says the licenses to be surrendered cannot be found in your account. The license you're trying to activate is an upgrade license that requires the surrender of a Pro Tools Express Akai Professional / M-Audio Edition Primer license. You do not have a Pro Tools Express Akai Professional / M-Audio Edition Primer license in your account which is why you're getting the error message that the license to be surrendered cannot be found in your account.

Contact Avid to have your surrender terms updated.

Soo, avid wants money for me to be able to get them to help activate the software I purchased from them. :-|

Before I suck it up and pay more money for an issue on there end, has anyone else had this problem and did you get it fixed and how?

Most problems with these upgrades are user error. Are you sure that you, iLok support and the Avid upgrade system are looking at exactly the same iLok account, and the specific iLok you are looking at is synced to that same iLok.com account. That iLok support cannot see the license you can see should be a clue. That at least would be a simple explanation of what would cause this.

I entered in the product code at "account.avid.com/activation"
After I had entered it I entered in my ilok account user name.
Once I had don't that I went to ilok.com and check my account. The protools license had appeared.
I then opened up the manager on my computer, logged in to my ilok account, and saw the license.
I clicked on activate, and I get the error.

Not sure what I did wrong....

Login to your iLok account and see if it works now.

Great, you should be in for a treat, compared to Express... Make sure you follow carefully all the install and optimization instructions and din't forget to uninstall express before installing Pro Tools 11.

Darryl, I don't think he is trying to upgrade, just trying to get Pro Tools Express working first.
