Pro Tools 7.1.1 is required for compatibility with Intel Macs.

You can download the update here (assuming you qualify for a free update, which requires a Pro Tools 7 or higher code):

Pro Tools 7.1.1 for Intel Mac

I'll bet you did not reformat the drive so it is FAT32 out of the box
On a Mac you need to be formated HFS+ Journaling turned on

I'm using Macbook: 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo1; 1.5 GB memory; 60GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive2 SuperDrive and the 002 rack. My system is the Mac OS X ver. 10.4.7 and my startup disk is the Macintosh HD. I have installed PT ver. 6.9.2 however when I create a new session and I want to
"save as" it says the following:

Session must be on an audio record volume.

I have read through all the previous post but I'm still slightly at lost because I just got this Mac and I don't want to do any serious damage or get to the point where I have to reboot and what-not. Do I have to format the volume either as Mac OS Extended (journaled) or other? or do I have to Repair disk permissions? I DO NOT want to save my audio files to none of the internal drives.. a big no no....

The other thing is that I have an external hard drive WD USB 2... and this is the drive that all my audio work is saved too.. well it was Via Windows. The problem is that when I try to save to this drive the (save) section next to the (cancel) is inactive. Is it because Mac (by just connecting the external drive with the usb2) didn't fully recognize what it is and in that case I need to install the software that came with the external drive?

Thanks
Sebastian

Thanks for the great info DUC , you´re the best!

Also people, if you are using Mac OS X 10.4.3 then be sure you are using Pro Tools LE 6.9.2

God bless

When I try to play a wav or record vocals I'm not hearing anything. Yet when I look at the mixer things are moving and sound appears to be playing. What can I do?
