Default New hard drive

I just bought a Western Digital 500gb SATA Internal Hard drive... And i Slapped it in my G5 mac (trying to link it with my protools)... and im a sign pops up and says "The disk you inserted is not readable by this computer"

Any Solutions... or Did I buy the wrong sh*t...

So you're saying that Apple Disk Utility can not format the drive HFS+ journaled?

Every time i start my Mac up i says "The disk you inserted is not readable by this computer"

does it not give you the option to Initialize?
if not I think you got a bad drive

I tried to initialize ... and it told me "your start up disk is almost full" you need to make more space available on your start up disk by deleting files...

I have noticed that with certain WD Drives,you have to Initialize it first using the Partition Tab (Disk Utility) then erase it.
