Default ASIO driver update soon?

It would be nice to know if the Avid folks are actually aware of this problem. Then I could at least not worry that this thread is getting buried. ASIO on windows 7 64bit with PT 9 does NOT work with 3rd party apps. It used to. It's now broken. There is no play cursor in apps like Sony Vegas, and there are no record or playback meters. I have confirmed this with Sony engineering and I know this is a real bug, not a third party issue. Something about the driver not sending clock information (that's my lay-person relaying of what I heard). But it's very hard to get any confirmation from anyone on the Digi/Avid side. I shouldn't have to install ASIO4All for this to work (and that doesn't even work, it caused Pro Tools to stop using its own drivers yesterday).

I know there are other users out there for whom this is an issue. How can it not be more urgent?

thanks,
Charles.

It's not just Sony apps, either. I get the same problem with Steinberg's Wavelab 7.1, though Ableton Live 8.2 works okay with the cursor.

I'm running Sony Vegas Pro 10c with the Digi ASIO driver and all of that curser and metering stuff has been fixed. Some older versions of Vegas exhibited the behavior you describe. I think the Digi ASIO driver is OK. The problems was Sony's.

Hope this helps,
Greg

Working for me with 3rd party apps, Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Some are even older versions. I am using my 002 rack as my 003 console Firewire quit on me while upgrading to 9.0.2.

No fix yet.

I'm using Vegas 10.0c 64 bit on W-7, ASIO driver, no problems with cursor or metering.
