PTEX new install not seeing Mbox 3 Driver

I recently installed PTEX and iLok. Then I bought an Mbox 3G which had a driver disc included, ver. 1.0.19.
I get the “unable to locate hardware” message- PTEX won’t launch because it can’t find the Mbox 3.
The iLok is working fine, and the driver works because Mbox plays back web audio directly from Windows.
I deleted the older Mbox driver and installed the newer version 1.0.22 and it’s the same exact problem.
From Windows/All Programs / Avid/ Mbox I can see Mbox Control Panel, Readme, and Uninstaller but there is no driver icon. But from Windows/Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall Programs/ I can see the Avid Mbox Driver 1.1.8 (x64) icon.
How do I get PTEX to see the Mbox 3 driver?

Problem solved. M-Audio PTEX will not communicate with Avid/Mbox driver.
