Default harddisks and HDX2

For years I've played back video from an
internal drive and audio from a Lacie FW800 external drive.
Now I'm switching the HDX2 and was wondering what's
the the best hard disk setup for the following application:

- playing back 400+ tracks and recording 5.1
stems at the same time
- playback of video (ProRes)

Would I need to play back audio from different drives? Is it better
to play back from internal drives?

Thank you

Default Re: harddisks and HDX2

You can use any hard disk you like with disk cache. You will still need to use a fast hard disk for video as it is not cached into RAM like audio is. I've heard of studios using the same HD for the OS as for sessions and hard drives on wifi and the like.
