OK so after more investigation I am having issues too..

brand new snow leopard build
fresh PT HD 8.0.3 install

Nehalem Mac pro 2 x 2.26 quad xeon
6 gb ram
nvidia gt120
audio on separate internal sata drive
video on separate internal sata drive
system on separate internal sata drive
Avid Mojo video peripheral

Quicktime video is jerky playing back out the Mojo or on the desktop..

I have tried

DV25
Avid DV
Motion JPG
H.264

This is disasterous to my daily business, I am trying to knock out the upgrade and all the bugs this week since I have nothing booked but that will soon change and I will be screwed!

Plug ins are as follows:

Waves Diamond Bundle and 360 Surround Bundle v 7r5
HDpack 6 plug ins

I am noticing a trend on the forums of video performance issues and video related errors with 8.0.3

pretty scary stuff in the post world

Out of interest how did you clean install 8.0.3? I tried after a clean 10.6 and it said it needed a valid 8.0 install so I had to install 8.0 first then upgrade to 8.0.3. Would have prefered going straight to 8.0.3.

Haven't really tried it much yet so will see if the video is jerky tomorrow.

Cheers,

Phill.

That was the process Phill... Install 8, followed by 8.0.3 upgrade.

Any other devices attached to the computer? All other troubleshooting done? Did you disable bluetooth, wireless, etc?

Did you do your SL install OVER Leopard, or was it a clean install?

Hey Im the OP!!
No SL here. Yes, I've done all the troubleshooting.
This started with the 8.0.3 upgrade from 8.0.1

Fresh install of SL, I did all the troubleshooting and spent about 2 hours on phone support, I uploaded some files to digidelivery that tech support says they will be testing.

Same problem here. Opened session that had previously been working fine in 8.01 after updating to 8.03 and video was choppy. Absolutely zero changes of any kind other than the pt update. Seems to be happening on all sessions, including those created after update.

I am seeing the same thing occur on my system with a BlackMagic card, using TV out set to 1280x720. I am not using "Video out PCIe".

Mac 8Core 2.26Ghz Nehalem, 16G RAM, MAC OSX 10.5.8, PT 8.03
