Please help with pro tools osx and other questions

Hello again.

I posted earlier about pro tools osx and media composer. I've had nothing but issues with pro tools. I've been able to grasp alot of stuff with pro tools but always have issues

I'm trying to do the following

Have pro tools with
Ez drummer
Ez keys
Media composer or another free video editing software.

The issues I'm having

Video editing software is not compatible with osx lion. I am afraid to update osx due to drivers that are not updated aswell.

I have recently reformatted my mac mini (2012) in hopes of getting these issues resolved. Amy help is appreciated.

Is there a Pro Tools related question here? It is unclear *exactly* what help you are after from Pro Tools users, what *exact* OS, Pro Tools and other software versions you have and why you can't upgrade to recent releases.

Recent versions of Pro Tools and Media Composer seem to work well on recent macOS versions.

I've pretty much deleted my entire previous set up. I'm having issues reinstalling the programs I had before starting with pro tools and issues with ilok.

I would eventually like to have the following running on my computer

Pro tools (version that is compatible with media composer)

I currently have pro tools 10.3 running with osx lion. I'm starting from scratch getting it all set up again and am completely lost.

There is no clear question here or clear statement of your exact problem. What exact problem are you having finding what you need?

You need to look up the compatibility tables that Avid provides for both products to find the required macOS versions needed. And worry about your interface drivers and any other software compatibility needs.

Why can't you use the latest Pro Tools and Media Composer. Both work on Sierra and High Sierra.

OK now some useful information.., why are you using old Pro Tools 10 and not looking at Pro Tools 12?

Does your system meet the minimum requirements for the latest Pro Tools and Media Composer?

1 tb 5400 RPM
8 gb ram
External hard drive 1 TB

Ok I'm having some serious issues now with pro tools. The site is not even recognizing my activation code.

There is little to no help offered with any issues it seems which is frustrating. Please if anyone can help with this it would be deeply appreciated.


All I want to do is have the program running smoothly so I can record basic songs for demos. I'd also like to eventually use media composer for videos of songs I've recorded.


There had to be a way to make this happen.

Avid 11 rack


Software I'm hoping to use

Ez drummer
Ez keys
Media composer.

Can someone please explain how to make this happen. I don't understand why this program is so difficult to run.
