Default Recording MIDI from Reason.

Is it possible to program a drum beat in Reason and record the MIDI information into Pro Tools? I'm kind of a beginner - so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you can export midi from reason, then import it into PT, but you can't record it from reason to PT.

No. The rewire protocol does technically allow for this, but not in pro tools.

However, depending how you program the beat in reason, you can export a midi file which you can then import into pro tools.

Agree. Do the programming in Reason then save the file and import it into PT. If this is the only way you can get your drum sounds that you want.

Or you can progam midi in PT therefore no need to import later on. The end result is the same. I program Reason midi in PT just because it's easier to deal in one program as much as possible. Plus I can see where the midi notes are in relation to the audio in PT, if any.
