Default DirectConnect 5.1.1_128

DirectConnect 5.1.1_128 has been posted in the Support/Downloads/DirectConnect section:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/dc.html

More Information:

DirectConnect Version 5.1.1_128

For TDM and Real Time AudioSuite (RTAS)

Low latency version

For use as an alternative to the standard version of DirectConnect installed with Pro Tools 5.1 or higher

Replaces DirectConnect v2.0d, now expired, from the beta folder on the Pro Tools 5.1 CD. Note: this version has no expiration date
This download includes the following files:

DirectConnect_128 ReadMe with installation instructions

DirectConnect version 5.1.1_128 plug-in

Digidesign® StreamManager version 5.1.1_128
System Requirements:

This version of DirectConnect requires Pro Tools or Pro Tools LE v5.1 or v5.1.1 on your system.
The standard versions of DirectConnect v5.1 and v5.1.1 that are installed with your Pro Tools v5.1 or v5.1.1 software provide a 512 sample buffer for streaming audio into Pro Tools. This newer version of DirectConnect 5.1.1_128 has a much reduced buffer size of 128 samples. The smaller buffer results in much lower audio latencies that now range well below 9 milliseconds for TDM systems and below 12 milliseconds for Pro Tools LE (at 44.1 kHz sampling rate). This means that if you play notes on your DirectConnect compatible synthesizer (such as Native Instrument's Reaktor) you will most likely no longer perceive latency.

Important to note: A side effect of the lower buffer size is a higher load on your host CPU. In extreme cases, you might not be able to reach the same level of performance achieved with the standard version of DirectConnect. If you experience excessive “low CPU” warnings, or even audio dropouts, we recommend going back to the shipping version of DirectConnect.

-Although the 512 sample version works fine with Logic, the 128 sample verison was not formally tested . However, I don't believe that it should produce any negative results.
