Default Real time Pro Tools Discussion

Hello chums,

What would you all say to the idea of dedicating an mIRC channel to protools. Say #protools on EfNet. This means we could all chat merrily together and get our problems sorted out instantly! We could even encourage a couple of DD support staff to hang out there for instant access to their brains.

For all of you that don't know what mIRC is, it's a free software application, fairly easy to set up which lets people talk together in various channels.

I'm not saying we should scrap the DUC, in fact i think the 2 could compliment each other well. We could eliminate the redundant questions by people first asking in the irc channel and then if unanswered, they would end up on the DUC.

I know there is the issue of a 'no archive' situation in irc, and that's why the DUC is so successful. But i think, at least for the niggly little problems and general banter, a real time situation would be awesome.

Anyway it's open and ready for visitors,

thanks, Cam

A chat room within the DUC would do it for me.

Yeah I'd say a duc chatroom would be better than mirc. I mean it's the same thing, but a chatroom on here would just be much easier. I guess I'd use either though.

Digi?? can you build us some chat rooms?

CamB,

Seriously, I think it's a good idea in spirit, but this DUC itself is practical enough for my needs. Maybe some others might want to join in though. Could be productive.
It's amazing how successful and helpful THIS thing is.

Roy
