I've used Lacie Tripple extreme for years now a 250 and 500 and another really great one that is buss powered that has worked flawlessly for me on both LE and HD rigs using a good 20-30 tracks and aux tracks, plug ins AND a Quicktime movie/DV was the OWC Mercury On-The-Go Pro™ Bus Powered Portable Solutions.

I couldn't find the 911 on there either. I use to be so concerned on the little details. It gets to a point where you're pulling hair, is it 911? is it 7200rpm, can it be raided, etc.

If others are using it and it works fine, then I go with it. For me, I use both internal drives, SAN's, external, etc.

The Lacies I use are triple (400, 800, and usb) and have worked fine. one of the drives did go bad, wouldn't boot on the mac at all, but worked on a pc, so I backed it up, reformatted it for the first time after about 4 or 5 years and it works. But I think that goes for every drive out there, good, bad, cheap, high end, etc. 1 o2 out of 10 is going to go bad at some point.

I looked through Lacies tech/support, and couldn't find a reference to 911, but if memory serves me correct, I believe it is the 911 chipset. I know with OWC they are 911 and they do sell to Protools/Mac users all day long.

You might want to email/contact Lacie to be %100 sure.

Hope this helps.
