I'd be careful thinking that all these dealers having online events and demos means it will be released.

Rolling out a major release like 11, requiring all new plugins especially, means dealers need to "educate" their customers ahead of time. Events like these allow that.

Don't know how reliable Alto Music is as a company ... do any of you USA guys have experience of them?

Anyway, point is, check this advert of theirs ...

http://altomusic.com/shop/Avid-Mbox-...-_pid111432.am

It says you'll be able to download PT11 from Avid on the day of its release ...

20th June!

I have about $300k worth of experience with Alto.
They are who I do 99% of my business with.
They're great.

Well assuming, on the basis of your experiences, that they are good guys, I hope they are currently lining the seat of their pants with plenty of newspaper ... as Avid are probably calling them into the headmaster's office for six of the best!

They won't be able to sit down for a week ;-)

I wish I could say the same about AltoMusic.
I live about 3 hours from them, drove down to check preamps, cash in hand, told me I needed to call ahead and make an appointment so they could set the stuff up. Dude wouldn't budge so I walked away got to the parking lot and called sweetwater.
Called a couple of weeks ago to check out some Focals, calling ahead this time!!
When mentioning my previous experience, just happened to be talking to the same dude that turned me away on my last trip, I got quick attitude and told that they have Focals on display and I don't need an appointment.
Needless to say I got off the phone with him and called sweetwater again.
I'm no big fish or anything but that just didn't seem right to me. I asked a few Pros in the area and they looked at me sideways when I told them I had cash in hand and was turned away because I didn't have an appointment.

I really wanted to support a New York shop but with the 2 strikes I just can't.
I have a few purchases coming up that need to be made in the next few months and I'll give them a try one more time but I have to say 3 strikes and your out with me!!!
When I went to Sam Ash in NYC it was nice to be able to walk into their room and not be stopped at the door like I was going to stick a C24 in my pocket and walk out the door.
