Default UA LA2A or BF LA2A

I thinking of getting an LA2A Plug which is the best and why. Mainly for Vox and bass.
I have a real one but only one.

Thanks

UA no question. The bomb factory sounds nothing like the real mccoy.

The UA stuff is worth every penny.

in case thermal wasn't clear...

the comparison between plugs is not even close! the UA plug is pretty good. the BF plug, well :

when i am finished, would you like a shiny well-mixed cd or a box of dirt?

Completely Agree,
UA Plugs simply blow away the Bomb Factory versions. Which is probably why we don't see RTAS versions of the UAD-1 plugs.

Once again the excellent UAD plug-ins don't seem to be in the Digidesign 2006 catalog. Weird.

I'll go on record here and stand behind the UA plug-ins as well. They are really nice for the money and are substantially better than BF's.

Yes, absolutely. I'm running TDM 1176LN, 1176SE, La2a, & Pultec. All excellent. There is also the Cambridge EQ. You just wouldn't know it from the catalog.

Yes good sounding plugs.......BUT........I would be careful about support/future devlopment from this company. Notice how there's been nothing new from UAD for several years now on the TDM side. The plugs are DSP hogs and nothing change through the switch to Accel or PT7. On top of that, you would think that development of the new Neve plugs would be prime for TDM where hi end users would be willing to pay for them. But instead, as of now they are only being devloped for UAD's card and according to a rep that I spoke to at NAMM, no future devlopment likely for TDM (at least that what the feeling he gave me).
Being one that has been burned by several companies now with them aborting a plug that I paid good money for, I am a lot more cautious these days. If you are buying just for today and don't care about upgrading tomorrow then these plugs are fine, otherwise ..........buyer beware.

You're not wrong. I don't believe that they care that much about TDM. For a long time they promised a TDM version of Dreamverb and thats a big no show. I feel strongly that these are some of the best sounding plug-ins out there and I really wish they would port some of their other plug-ins to TDM. There is no way I'm going to run their DSP card, and you would think that there is a bigger market for TDM (or at least as big).
