RTAS and TDM Plugin Quality

Because of the ability to use RTAS AND TDM plugins at the same time, I was wondering if the plugins have the same level of quality.

E.G. Waves REN COMP TDM plugin and the REN COMP RTAS plugin. Or other plugins of McDSP for example.

well, some RTAS plugins work in 64 bit format, but in TDM only in 48 or24 bit, so i assume that these plugins sound better in RTAS.

I think it is just a matter of bits, because the algorithm is the same

is it possible to make a tdm card that can be upgraded(regarding sample/bit rate) via chip modifications?

as for McDSP stuff, we take great care to insure sound quality of our RTAS and TDM plugIns are the same. Even the efficiency of RTAS versions scrutinized like a TDM plugIn.
