Re: Best Mastering Plugins?
I agree with Robba Dobba-the Waves C4 and L2. For eq's, many are liking the Waves Studio Classics. Also, another nice EQ is the Massenburg Hi-res EQ plugin.

Re: Best Mastering Plugins?
I only "master" my demos here, would never actually master a project in the box for release.
That said, the mcdsp ML4000 is simply magic. Use sparingly, it is very powerful. I have on occasion used ozone and even the PSP stuff. I used to use and still like the Waves L1. I think it's a great plugin. I have messed around with T-Racks but not sure about their stuff. The real eye opener was an instructional video with Dave Arrons in which he created and mixed a bangin' hip hop record in the box with an mbox and only the free plugins that come with PT and Reason. And NOTHING on the mix bus. It sounded phenomenally hard and clear. There's something to be said about just getting the mix right in the first place. |

That's the truth.

Re: Best Mastering Plugins?
Quote:
The main reason I got my PoCo x8 was the Harm4 followed by the MD3 (the "followup" to MasterX). They might be coming soon with the System6000 MD4. I want clean and sweet sound and I´ve stopped using L2 and replaced it with MD3 (2 instances+Brick Wall) and often the Waves LinB between them. Not masteringstudio quality, but for homestudio, the best I´ve tried sofar...

Re: Best Mastering Plugins?
If you don't want to use an Ilok. I say the T Racks.
But I like some of my waves stuff for that. C4 especially. |
