I love holiday season deliveries. Late or early. Mine was early. Setup and test-tracking my SJ-200 90 minutes later. Not bad.

I don't even know where to start. My biggest motivator to buy is satisfied, but it wasn't my biggest gain. I can hear everything. Even some reference tracks that I didn't find that well represented by my rig are like listening for the first time.

Simply great.

1. yes.
2. Not necessarily. Only reason to disable LLM is if you want to do hardware inserts on the main out or you want to monitor "through PT".
3. Not sure what you're asking here, sorry. And sadly, our French is far worse than your English. :)

3. Yes when you use a UAD plugin in Pro Tools the processing for that Plugin runs on the UAD DSP. The actual plugin processing always runs on the DSP, never native, what looks like a native plugin just always launches processing on the DSP. It is not like TDM or HDX where you can run as native, it is DSP only. (Something I wish was not the case)

So...

You always need a UAD interface or other form of UAD DSP attached to the system to use those plugins.

If you run UAD plugins in Pro Tools and in the console they are sharing the same DSP resources and you need enough DSP to do both. You can end up needing lots of $$$ DSP power... to get stuff that could run native on a modern CPU... and they are nice but higher priced plugins so you make your choice and pays your money or not.

Running UAD plugins in Pro Tools require large buffer sizes for reliability, if you want to track through them at low latency... you would usually use them in the console not in Pro Tools.

There is lots to understand about plugin DSP plugin use, latency of some UAD plugins etc. Luckily UAD is amongst the best vendors with documentation.

Hi Universal Audio, is there a simple link or pdf that shows how I can use UAD plug-ins with PTU? I’m exLogic + UAD user, have done a brief search but can’t find anything. Would be grateful! I use HD Native TB3 with Mtrx Studio on Mac Mini Big Sur.
Cheers H
