Default TDM and RTAS Development

So will Waves and others continue updates to TDM and RTAS to make money?
Why not with such a large market in Logic, Cubase and others?
What value is a WUP if not?
Will NI continue to add new RTAS instruments in order to get paid upgrades?

I can't imagine that Waves or any other software developer will continue support for obsolete platforms like RTAS and TDM for much longer.
At most until PT 11.

Waves hasn't said anything, but I'm really hoping that owning a Waves Bundle and WUP will entitle us to free or very low cost upgrades to AAX.
There is no way I could afford to re-purchase Mercury at full price (or even the recent half price).

I can't imagine anybody dropping support for TDM until demand drops off.

some but not a lot, 3~5 years at most (excluding Venue support) to patch any glaring bugs or OS changes

TDM and RTAS don't support any other DAW so I don't really understand the question, they are AU or VST

again don't get the context

hard to say, probably for the same 3~5 years
maybe longer if the user base is there

Good point! I mean will NI have new RTAS instruments for PT10, will Waves have new TDM for PT10?
