Default Waves 3.0

I just upgraded from a Waves Gold Bundle version 2.8.1 to version 3.0 (with some Waves plug-ins at version 3.0.2 & 3.0cs) and as I understand it, Waves version 3.0 is not backwards compatible with any previous version as far as Pro Tools automation & Pro Tools presets but it is backwards compatible with Waves presets?
