Motherboard - is Gigabyte BX2000+ OK?
I am bought a new computer and discovered that it had a VIA chipset on it. I read on the Digidesign websight, about an hour later, that VIA chipsets will not work with a Digi 001. So, I'm sending it back to have the motherboard changed. The salesman and I searced for another one that he had to work with my other components. I think the Gigabyte BX2000X+ is the solution, but I need to be sure. I ordered an Intel Pentium 733, slot 1, with 256MB of RAM running at 133MHz, and Seagate 18GB SCSI drive, with a SoundBlaster PCI128 card for use with MIDI instruments. I am looking forward to using the Pro Tools LE software, but I already own Steinberg's Cubase 3.7 and would like to option to use that sometimes for my existing projects. I also own a Yamaha SCSI CD burner that writes CDRs at 4x (I forget the model #). Does all of that sound OK? Are there any components I should be concerned about?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help |

Carlos:
Thank you for the information. I just wanted to be sure that my computer was going to work with a Digi 001, and it sounds like it should.
