If you just need to make simple video edits, QuickTime Pro 7 does that and it works under Yosemite.

I imported some video of playing music into the Pro Tools sessions to sync it up with the audio. Looks great.
But i want to make some "cuts" to the video before i export it.

the typical Pro Tools commands dont work on the video strip. i know its not a video editting program per say, but i think its gotta be possible to make cuts? yes no?

Thanks!

Not sure if your question has been answered...but like Craig F said, the only way to actually edit video in Pro Tools is with Pro Tools HD. Even then, you won't be able to export the edits to a movie. Like Park said, QT Pro 7 is ok for simple edits. If that doesn't suit you, then what about iMovie? Your next bet would be Final Cut Pro X. That's what I did and it works well. Actually I like FCP 7 better...but can get by with X for the little things I do.

Or you could always subscribe to Media Composer here …

https://shop.avid.com/ccrz__ProductD...45&&store=shop

For a year paying monthly, or just for one month if you don't need it long term.

PS … I'm struggling to believe I'm actually suggesting that ;-)
