Re: audio files always have x.1.1.1 behind
All I can think of is .1 ussually gets assigned to a new file with the same name as an existing file. Whats causing it, I don't know. Sorry to be not too much help.
List your system specs and you may get more responses. |

Re: audio files always have x.1.1.1 behind
Maybe you already know all this, then disregard this message
Do you use quickpunch mode a lot ? Although very convenient, quickpunch produces a lot of "dead wood". If you punch in on large sessions (like live recording of several musicians for example), this can reach astronomical levels First, if you have any doubts about the health of your hard drive, backup everything in its present state (if you can !) I then suggest you do the following : 1- In the edit window : delete all unused tracks and playlist (if any) 2- In the regions list : a) select unused regions b) "remove" selected (NOT delete!!!!!) Next comes the compacting of the audio, but first a preliminary warning : when you compact the audio files, ONLY the session you are working from will be able to read the compacted audio correctly. Any OTHER session referencing the SAME AUDIO will not be able to open correctly That is why it is best to do the compacting on a project that has been throughly backed !! In the regions list again : a) Select All b) Compact selected : If you are unsure about your edits you can choose a large value for the padding, since it is in milliseconds, it makes alot of zeroes...) Normally, your session should shrink back to some acceptable size. Then you can finish the job by saving a session copy with all audio files. As for the name of the files, I have no ideas... good luck
