Default multiple interfaces with pt9

i know this is a long shot but i figured i would ask. is it possible to connect 2 interfaces (via firewire) to PT9? ie...my sc48 and a motu896hd. are we still limited by the 18 track count?

thanks

My understanding is that Aggregate I/O (the technology that allows you to use more than one ASIO or Core Audio interface) is currently only availabe on a Mac OSX. (I'm not sure which platform you are using as your signature shows both Mac and Windows). Also Aggregate I/O does not work with digi002/003 family of interfaces. As far as I know your sc48 and a motu896hd should work together if the above conditions are met.

i am currently using pt9 on my mac system. i will have to play around a little more to see how to make it all work together. my ideal plan until avid does 32 track is to use the console to pump the 18 main tracks and then take 8 analog out to the 896 and into pt9 via firewire. all will be kept in line via wordclock of course.

Sir, one of the great new features of PT9 is that it supports 32 i/o

The other is that you can use multiple interfaces.

i am very well aware of the 32 count in 9 sir....i am just running into a problem with getting pt to see both devices at the same time. seeing as microsoft has restricted us to 18 channels on firewire...i wasnt sure if this work around would work with the new setup in 9.

Ah... yes. Windows does not support the Aggregate I/O, at least, not with the official drivers for your devices. This is an OSX feature.

However, a single device with more than 18 I/O should still work fine in Windoze.

Indeed, shouldn't the SC48 now be able to deliver 32 signals into PT9? Maybe its a simple setup issue between the SC48 outputs and PT9's IO setup

the 18 count is due to driver issues with microsoft. i know avid is working on getting past this..but so far all avid devices with 1394 are limited to 18 channels
