What is the best way to record Acoustic Guitar for Hip Hop

I put it on the pc side also:

I have a Takamine acoustic electric guitar and I want to record some acoustic guitar work for hip hop prductions. I have a Fender tweed tube amp (4 tens) and here is my question:

Should I mic the cab and record that way or should I go through my penta line ins with compression for that sound.

It is for hiphop so I doesn't have to be clean like a rock song with acoustics but I do want a great sound. Think the strumming and guitar work like neptunes.

All advice is welcome.

Hola citi,
If you have an accustic/electric what works best is to track it both simultanously with a mic in front (near the sound hole) and run it direct then blend the two tracks.
I get a killer guitar sound that way! Warmth of the mic and room, with the clearity and brightness of the direct track.
I've used this approach on Contemopary R&B, Rap, Rock, Folk, Funk and Reaggee. Just use your ears.
