Default Analog light on 888 blinking . Why?

I'm not getting sound. Is this the problem?

it means the interface is not intialized. When you booted PT after trashing the digisetup pref, were you prompted to choose your audio hardware? If so, did you choose the right i/o from the list? As soon as you choose that interface, it should go into a "ready" state where that light that's not blinking.

If you weren't prompted, you should trash the digisetup pref again, this time make sure you empty the trash and restart your machine before you try to start PT again.

In the future, you should stick with a single thread for problems like this. There's no reason to have multiple threads for the same problem.

But just in case:

Make sure that you selected the right interface in the i/o setup [888 or 888/24] and make sure you've selected the right card and port [A / B]

Check the cable from the 888 to the mix card.

With your computer turned of, can you pass audio through the 888 as a stand alone device ? If not suspect the 888. Do any lights show on the 888 ? If not, 888 power supply.

Do the cards pass the Digi Test ?

These are good starting points.
