Default When should I install the latest M-Audio drivers?

Hi,

I have PTMP7 and a Firewire 410 currently sitting in their boxes waiting to be installed. Before I get started, I wanted to ask when the best time to install downloaded drivers would be--should I install them after I install the 410 but before installing PT, should I install them after PT, or does the order even matter?

Also, do I need to install all three of the driver files listed on the M-Audio update site, or just the latest one?

Thanks,
Erik

You should install only the latest driver, and you should follow the installation instructions (which, if I'm not mistaken, direct you to install the driver before plugging in the unit).

Once the hardware is installed, then install the PT software.

I'm pretty sure this is all covered in the individual installation instructions.

Out of both of my M-Audio interfaces(Project mix and Firewire 1814)none of their drivers worked out of the box.I had to download the latest from their site.

I just installed PT 7.3 on a new DAW where I use a Firewire 410 with the latest drivers. So far everything seems to be working OK.

I did, however, have a scary experience with another M-Audio driver. I also have an Axiom 25 keyboard, and a couple of days ago I installed the latest driver for that on the new DAW. Shortly afterwords the system because totally unstable, and I was getting BSOD's right and left. After 2 days of troubleshooting I finally uninstalled the new Axiom 25 driver and installed the previous one. The system has been stable ever since.
