Just for kicks maybe? I did it for 2010 mac mini and got PT working on Catalina as well. Sluggish as hell, but working.

That seems like a very good reason not to do it!

The advantage of the Quadro K5000 is that it is officially supported in Mojave, so i still get the option key boot menu.
Interesting have not even tried the option key boot. (as I only use the designated "boot drive" for startup) I will try and report back , thanks

Sorry for not seeing this sooner .... but best not to try the option key boot menu.

You’ve already said you don’t see the boot up progress screen, so you won’t see the option key boot menu either.

What will happen, if you have more than one boot option (which you likely will even if only the recovery partition for your main os) is the mac pro will just sit waiting for you to make your choice.

Hopefully it will default to selecting your normal os, so you can just press enter to boot it up. But all you are doing is delaying boit up without being able to see what you are choosing.

Ya I was wondering about that after I posted , thanks , I guess I'll leave well enough alone as it works fine...
After the power button is pushed it is black for 20- 30 seconds, then shows the progress screen for a few seconds, then boots the desktop .
