Default PT LE 7.0 WinXP + Mackie Control -> Master Fader ?

Ok, I am a new user to the PT community somewhat. I have used it in other studios and have conducted sessions where it was used, but always had Steinberg products for my home pre-production. Well I have PT Le now at home with my Mackie Control and was wondering, how can I get the Master fader to respond on the Mackie Control Universal. It seems that even with a master channel active in my session, I still dont get the master fader on the MCU to work.

All help appreciated,

The master fader on the MCU doesn't work with PT. PT places the master fader into a session alongside all the other faders rather than as a seperate fader apart from others like in Steinberg stuff, Samplitude and some others. The master fader will show up in your regular banks of 8 faders.

It's a drag, I know. But hey..........when my number six fader went bad last month, I had a spare.............just swapped the #6 fader and the master MCU fader.

The explanation for why is because you can assign more than one master fader in Pro Tools. So which one would use the hardware master fader?

It's done by design.
