Outputting SMPTE from ProTools
I just got a video with no timecode and I'm trying to output a timecode track from Protools so that another studio over ISDN can sync to it. The only problem is I have no idea to output an audio reference from my protools setup. Is there a way to turn protools into the master and output TC from whereever you play. I have only used it as the slave.
Protools 5.0.1 Digidesign 888 MTP AV Timepiece Thanks, TJ |

Re: Outputting SMPTE from ProTools
If memory serves me, you cannot output LTC from Pro Tools using the MTP AV. Maybe you could record some SMPTE on an audio track and play it back as an audio track.

Make shure in the Session window you have checked "generate LTC using (generic device?)". In my case it's the Sync IO, but I suspect in your case it's a "generic device". Anyway, after that, hit the "Online" button (in you transport window, or controller), hit play and PT outputs LTC! |

Re: Outputting SMPTE from ProTools
And if this helps... I had a MOTU Digital Timepiece and it could output TC
