Do this: one track with EchoBoy as an insert and one with EchoBoy on a send. You should be able to hear the difference right away. With EB as an insert the initial dry sound isn't heard as it would be if EB was on a send. EB's dry/wet won't give a true non-delayed dry signal. I could hear it no problem. What really bought it home for me was trying to do a David Gilmour type delay and couldn't cop his sound with EB on an insert; had to go to EB on a send.

I wonder if its just the echoboy. I sometimes have used delays on insert but usually only if I'm using a mod type delay but I've never noticed this with what I use. I just got the soundtoys stuff last month though so haven't used echoboy much. Though I'm loving the tremolator

decided to wait for a couple more newb's. I really don't have need for the VR stuff and don't want to fill the last 3 slots with $49 metal, and distortion plugins which go for sale for 29 and 9 at Xmas etc...

It really should be any amount of plugins from say 3 to 20 and a structured system..

If i go into the deal now, i am sure 3 new plugins will be out by summer that i would wish i had gotten instead, and they'll be like 199 or 299 plugins.. patience is the answer in this case I believe, simply because of the "one size fits all" mentality of the offer.
Make sure they are ALL plugins you really want and the deal is good value to YOU. :)

Good points. What good is a deal if two of the plugs are just gonna collect digidust (bitdust? Making up words is fun.).

There are almost always amps and FX on sale with nice visibility and warning in the monthly newsletter. Of course, that monthly voucher can make make for some sweet deals. Me? I will continue to look at the deals as they come in.

I wish Softube would follow suit. They do send out sale announcements and such, I guess, but I am rarely impressed with the deal. It is up to them, of course, if they want to off their plugs are huge percentages off the normal or not. Folks here have mentioned other companies in a similar vein. (sp?) Until they do, they remain quite inaccessible for me. Perhaps it forces me to be more selective?

TA!

I like to use the overloud mark bass 2 on synth bass, it's amazing.

Also the BX sub filter from alliance is amazing.. great plugin, one of the very best of the low end enhancers..

:)

You should try BX SubSynth then! Picked it up on Black Friday for $25. This is one of my favourite on my LFE insert along with the Lowender.
