Default Linking Two Echo Audiofire 12's for 24 inputs into Pro Tools HD 9

Hey guys,

A studio that I will be doing some tracking at only has the Echo Audiofire 12's(2 of them) and the only computer that has pro tools installed is a macbook pro with pro tools hd 9. Since they usually record on a pc platform with nuendo the owner has never had to use the Audiofire's with the macbook pro and is not to familiar with the MAC OS.

I installed the latest drivers and tried daisy chaining both devices together to get 24 inputs. But when I go to select my playback engine I can only select one of the audiofires..which only gives me 12 inputs. I also tried not daisy chaining the cards and running two separate firewire lines to the macbook pro. No luck.

I was wondering it there is any steps that I am missing here to get all 24 inputs in pro tools. I went to the i/o set up and didn't see any options to configure it differently.

I e-mailed Echo's customer support a week or so ago and have not heard back.

I'd really need to have more than 12 inputs..especially for the drums.

Any suggestions would be appreciate.

Thanks!

Hi,

Look at making an aggregate audio device using the 2 audiofires!

Applications/ utilities / AMS audio midi setup

Google aggregate audio should give you the instructions for doing this
