Communication with the "Eleven Rack"...

I receive this message EVERY time that pro tools launches...

Communication with the "Eleven Rack" has experienced an error. Would you like to re-connect?

Is anyone else having this happen?

I click Yes and problem solved, I don't see the error unless I quit and relaunch pro tools, but I also have many errors from the 11r that say it's lost connection and force me to quit... AHHHH!!!!!!

I have a studio with an HD3 system that doesn't give me too much trouble and at home I went from a little M-Audio mobile pre to the 11r (1.03) and have had some issues... It's starting to get annoying...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got this too eveytime I would start PT, it would say it could not connect to the Eleven Rack Window, and even if I clicked YES reconnect, it would never connect, so I would have to shut down PT and re-launch and it would work fine. Then after the 1.0.3 firmware came out, i didnt have the problem anymore..... until this week... Now it does it everytime! and I have to re-boot the PC to get the Window to come up. This happens with either the 11R and 003R as the main interface. Even when using the 11R as the main interface, I can play back and record, but the 11R window does not come up. Iv tried several things such as toggling the clock rate, scrolling through patches, turning in the 11R off and back on, ect... but nothing works except a complete PC re-Boot.

Its very strange, I always follow standard Power up procedures (interface on first, then PC on) but the 11R wont connect the first time i boot up Pro Tools anymore. I always have to close out PT, shut down the PC. Shut down the interfaces, then power on the interfaces, power on the PC, then launch PT again, and it works. Very strange for this to just start happening all the sudden, and yes in MIDI input devices, Eleven Rack is checked.

YES.....and it loses connection while sitting idle.
NO.....i don't allow the computer to go to sleep. Turned off in prefs.

Lots of PT crashes in 8.04 in general.

hopefully this can be fixed in the next firmware and Pro Tools update.

I've actually had better luck powering the 11R after the computer is started...then opening PT. Not sure if this is recommended or not.

Yes, hopefully the issue will be addressed soon. It seems worse with the new firmware to me but it could be 8.04.

YES!!! That's exactly it with me too... I posted about it losing connection while idle in another post... I've tried different USB cables, USB ports, etc...

It's more annoying than anything... I've also been dealing with quite a few CPU Overload errors on my 2.4 Ghz Macbook Pro 4 GB Ram... I changed USB Ports and that seemed to help, but I can NEVER get a successful bounce to disk until I restart my computer. After a restart if I open PT and do a BTD it works the first time through... errr.....

Glad to see i'm not alone, hopefully we'll get an answer or solution soon.

Basically I lose connection to the 11R. I think caused by simply being idle. I'm asked if I want to Save or Quit the PT session. Quit, turn off and back on the 11R when PT says it can't see any hardware, then I get a DAE 706 error, then I have to restart to fix the issue.

if you are on Windows Vista or 7 be sure to turn off "USB Selective Suspend"

Iv never had a problem with losing connection with the 11R, only problems with it not putting up the 11R window in PT.

I seem to have better luck if instead of starting Pro Tools right after boot up, I boot up, then let it set idle for a few minutes before I launch PT.

I have this error too but only on one specific session. If I click to reconnect, the error just comes up again. If I click no, everything works just fine. It appears that the connection state somehow gets saved with the session, despite the current status.
