D-command problem with phones level not stable
I have a new D-command where I'm using the headphone jack on the front of the console for headphones out to the studio (Main monitor to phones) and often when releasing the talkback button, the level lin the headphones stays VERY low in level. Touching the phones level knob makes it jump back up again. It's very frustrating ffor the producer, the musicians, the engineer, and not to mention the owner (ME) who paid so much for this and have these kind of problems. Does anyone else know about this? Digi got a fix? OR is it pilot error?

Re: D-command problem with phones level not stable
We're getting the same thing and it's getting worse. Except we're using the cue outputs on the X-Mon.
It seems to be totally random as to when it happens. I think it's to do with the dimming circuit for the talkback. It's like it doesn't release properly. Anyone else got this, or found a fix for it? Iain

Digi, can you comment on this; this is a bit disconcerting for folks (like me) who are on the fence deciding whether or not to drop the 30k for one these guys. Thanks.

Hi, same problem here .... the dim release works well on monitor outs, but not on the phone jack AND the cue outs. Regards, Jerome |

Re: D-command problem with phones level not stable
"...definitely going to wait for a revision before dropping the coin." I'm starting to wish I had too. Where is Digi Nordic???? Someone over there was supposed to keep me informed about what's going on. Digi engineering?? Hello!!!????????????????????? Anyone want to jump in here and give me some news about what I can do to keep the sessions flowing smooth and not having to retake good takes because the musicians/singers weren't sure what they were hearing. This happens EVERY SINGLE SESSION! If I was digi, I would send an enineering team up here to figure it out once and for all. It's a win win situation... I would get my D-command fixed, the musicians would be happy, digidesign would be a lot wiser by solving a major problem and digidesign wouldn't get these posts from me and others complaining about it. Digi, please come to the rescue, my sessions are grinding to a halt... Sincerely, Mike Hartung Propeller Music Division Oslo, Norway (+47) 22353008 |

Re: D-command problem with phones level not stable
Here is another related bug that I can reproduce every single time without fail.
Have autotalkback engaged, bounce to disk and..., voila...Talkback doesn't disengage. Monitors stay dimmed. Can anyone else confirm this. It's easy enough to try. thanks Mike |
