Default Reason Adapted or DFHSup

I want to start recording drums using a drum machine and I am not sure what I should do here. I have reason adapted and bfd lite but I dont really know if they are the right programs for what I want to do...and they are sort of hard to use. I want to record drums for metal and I heard that bfd is mostly for rock and such and reason redrum is mostly for techno. Should I purchase DKFHS or just try and figure out reason and bfd?
