Bummer. I did have an exchange with Eddie Jones on a PT Facebook group months ago where he implied that the PT dev team was aware of the Folder open/close while recording issue and agreed that it should be changed. That being said, who knows if that will get any priority in the marching orders that get handed down to the programmers. Maybe now that Carbon is out, they will ramp up software development a bit more.

hmmm, pardon me I think you are doing something wrong. I have 2 memory locations:

- "zoom in whole song & all folders closed" just showing the mixbus/mastering section in edit window

- "zoom in whole song & all folders open showing the mixer

works for me since introduction of folders

Well, I just found something interesting by accident. Open/Close folders DOES work from a surface or from the Control App. I currently have a Dock+Control app and an Artist Mix. Open/Close using the OPEN option from the tracks page on the Control App and Folder Spill from the Control app tracks page or from double-pressing the Artist Mix SEL button works while recording.

I am also noticing that Folders will spill but won't unspill from the Control app Tracks page using SELECT. This is the same whether in record or not.

I've used keyboard maestro to set up a key (I used alt-E) for opening and zooming into a track, which saves a lot of frustration if you do what I do and press e hoping to see the the tracks and just end up seeing a useless blown up overview instead.
