Default 256 HDX Voice Count Firmware Upgrade

Seriously when is this going to happen.
The annual license subscription is really losing its luster.

256 voices is ridiculous for anything that involves surround.
When you start bussing around in 7.1.2 the voice county disappears VERY quickly.
FFS Avid fix this .
The HDX community have invested in your product.
With 7.1.4 internal bussing , better intergration with Dolby Production Suite , Massive Decrease of CPU usage with DAPS integration, unlimited voices, plus not to mention for the post community Resolve Studio ( with Fairlight DAW inside) costs as much as a Pro Tools annual license ( and you have it for life)
Nuendo 11 and Davinci Resolve 17 are hot on your heels.
(Actually they have passed you )
People will be leaving in droves.
Seriously, industry standard has lost touch with the industry.

Probably never going to happen. They probably fired all the people who knew anything about the code that would make it happen.

Precisely, Nuendo 11 is a massive release for post. Integrated Dolby Atmos, no separate app and crazy routing necessary, ADR features that ProTools wish it had, supports Eucon in full integration, no stupid limitations on tracks/voices and much more.....for a price that is pretty neat.
"Industry Standard" echoes as a joke today.

Cheers!

Based on what I've read and seen, the firmware voice upgrade for HDX is dead, and will be replaced by Hybrid Mode. This will allow HDX to run in Native mode, allowing the same voice counts as Ultimate software-only (and I'm assuming unlocking additional voice "packs" based on the number of cards detected) while allowing DSP to be used on a channel by channel basis, like with the Carbon.

Unfortunately, this looks like it will be a paid option. I feel that this should be free to HDX owners with active Support plans, given that they basically promised the voice increase to HDX users at one point, and those that have invested less money into hardware and software get more voices currently.
