Default Dropped something on my Powerbook

Yes I am an idiot.... one of my "heavy" books fell on the top of my laptop when it was closed..thank god...closed......yet now I have a nice dent in the shell of my laptop. Obviously mac wont replace it because it was an "accident" and I dont have the 3 year coverage. Any idea's? Are the any websites that sell these shells that don't charge a million bucks? Thanks.

I had to laugh at your name. In your profile under "occupation" maybe you should put "Palestine".

Sorry for the joke. I mean nothing by it, just thought of something stupid--

Good luck with your powerbook.

do you have insurance? if your insurance covers such accidents, take a quote of the repair costs from an authorized apple repair service and send that to your insurance company. likely they will pay at least some of that.

my previous powerbook got hit at home and my insurance company paid 1800 euros for that

OK, Try here - http://www.wegenermedia.com/titp.htm
It seems like it's not a self repair, note this half way down;

"Please note:

We do NOT recommend trying to do 'surgery' on your Titanium upper half. While you may attempt it, it is impossible to dissassemble the titanium upper half by hand, without causing damage to the casing. If your case is damaged, it is generally much weaker than when new.. We are able to process upper half repairs thru our standard repair system, to dissassemble them, so you may consider contacting our shop for these repairs. Email us, or call 803.808.4362"

If I were you, I'd give 'em a call......mig
