So how does one go about making sure they got the S3LX as opposed to the S3L?

Same question I had. An Avid rep informed my dealer that all S3L's currently leaving their inventory are the upgraded S3L-X.

My S3L was shipping with 2 Iloks. 1 for the S3L and 1 for ProTools.
